Join the internationally recognised Science Communication Unit (SCU) at The University of the West of England (UWE), Bristol.
The post is part of the European Commission H2020 funded project ‘RETHINK: Taking Stock and Re-Examining the Role of Science Communication’. RETHINK will provide a 360° view of the current science communication landscape and map science communication activities across Europe. It will also gain insights from science communicators into their activities and practices, including those aimed at reaching new audiences. It will explore the ‘sensemaking’ practices of citizens as they seek to understand scientific developments, particularly while using online resources. Finally, it will provide a picture of current science communication training.
RETHINK is being led by VU Amsterdam and involves collaborating with several other partners including Ecsite, Sissa Medialab, Danish Board of Technology Foundation and Zeppelin University in Germany.
The Research Fellow will be required to:
• Contribute to the successful completion of the RETHINK project, including scoping work, gathering and analysis of data, organising and contributing to meetings and events.
• Communicate and liaise with other partners and collaborators engaged in the RETHINK project.
• Disseminate findings from the project, through appropriate academic and practitioner routes, as well as project reporting.
• Actively participate in Faculty and Science Communication Unit activities, including attending relevant events and contributing to social media activities.
