Get involved in the event on public engagement with synthetic biology!

SYNENERGENE Forum is just a week away!

Join us for the two-day forum event on 24-25 June 2016 during which we want to share our RRI experiences and achievements with relevant stakeholders and publics, including scientists, civil society organizations, industry and policy makers, and discuss the development of a synthetic biology agenda for the (near) future. Addressing the synthetic biology agenda implies a focus on:

  • Opportunities of synthetic biology relating to societal challenges
  • Concerns about synthetic biology relating to possible negative implications
  • Engagement with synthetic biology as a contribution to responsible research and innovation

There will also be an RRI Showcases poster session. If you are involved in the project on RRI or emerging technologies and want to present it during the forum, get in touch with Antonina Khodzhaeva akhodzhaeva@ecsite.eu

SYNENERGENE

This project engaged stakeholders and the public in an open dialogue concerning synthetic biology’s potential benefits and risks and explored possibilities for its “collaborative shaping” on the basis of public participation. Ecsite brought together stakeholders to share expertise, learn from each other and develop a common understanding of crucial aspects of synthetic biology, later used to create and deliver public engagement activities.
