Dear Members,
With 2025 well underway, at a time when the whole world seems to be gripped by fury and anger, I am pleased to share key updates and upcoming events for the Ecsite Network.
Registration for the 2025 Ecsite Conference opens next week on 12 February. With another rich programme, this gathering, as always, promises valuable exchanges, networking, and fresh perspectives on advancing our field. We very much look forward to seeing you there.
Regarding valuable exchanges, I would also like to highlight the CEO Focus, which returns to this year’s Ecsite Conference on 3 June from 9:00 to 13:00. Co-ordinated by a working group of Ecsite Board members, CEOs from Ecsite member organisations will have the opportunity to join fellow senior level management professionals in frank and thought-provoking discussion. I highly encourage eligible members to register promptly as spots are limited.
Looking ahead, our Annual General Meeting (AGM) will take place online this year, ahead of the Conference e.g. on 14 May 2025. It’s an important one since we are going to elect our new President, among other things. As you know, my mandate as President terminates on 30 June and I do not intend to become a dictator on the last day (LOL)! Luckily, we all cherish the democratic values that are the corner stones of our organisation.
On top of the AGM, we will invite you to an online Extraordinary General Assembly (EGA) as Ecsite is proposing changes requiring full members consideration. Please note that you will receive an invitation to both AGM and EGA and a copy of the proposed amended Statues and Internal regulations next week by email.
This month, we also bid farewell to Board Member Amito Haarhuis, who has served as Treasurer since 2023 and has been a valued member of the Ecsite Board for six years. He takes the reins of the Netherlands Open Air Museum on 1 March, a non member of Ecsite. We thank him for his contributions and wish him well. We also look forward to welcoming Hilde de Laet, Board Member and Manager of Hidrodoe, in her new position, as she will take over as Treasurer.
