Ecsite strongly condemns the attack on Ukraine, which has already led to human losses and damages, the undermining of international security and a violation of human rights.

The decision was made to send a letter, signed by Ecsite Board members, to our science engagement partners in Russia, asking them to publicly manifest their disapproval in the attack and to request an immediate halt to military and cyber actions against Ukraine, and for Russia to pull back from a territory that it doesn’t own, and to encourage Russian colleagues to step up to demonstrate their wish for concord and respect. It is only by acting together that change can be made.

Ecsite is now inviting other partners across Europe and the rest of the world to do the same in their field and the Ecsite Board is actively searching for additional ways in which they (and the whole network) can support and stand in unity with our Ukrainian friends and colleagues, and with the Ukrainian people.
