Directors Forum leaves positive legacy in Bristol

Thanks to the generosity of the 2024 Ecsite Directors Forum participants, 15GBP from every ticket will be donated to a charity, local to our hosts We The Curious.

The charity, selected by the Team at We The Curious is called Heart of BS13. It is a place-based charity dedicated to improving the quality of life for residents in the Hartcliffe and Withywood areas of South Bristol, particularly within the BS13 postcode. The organisation focuses on reducing health inequalities, promoting environmental sustainability, and empowering the community to lead healthier, more connected lives. Through a range of projects—including green skills training, mental health support, a community freezer, initiatives that tackle food inequality— and climate action workshops—Heart of BS13 works closely with residents, other local charities, healthcare providers, and the local government to create lasting, positive change. Their approach emphasises partnership with the community to address pressing local needs and foster resilience, sustainability, and opportunity for all.

The Team at We The Curious are excited to share that the donation will help Heart of BS13 re-establish their green mentorship programme, which is part of their broader two-year initiative, Illuminating Hartcliffe: A Community Lantern and Sculpture Trail. This project aims to engage young people aged 8-25 in creative and environmental workshops, including welding, lantern making, and social action projects. They’re also collaborating with SEND schools to provide green skills programmes specifically for students aged 12-24, empowering them to develop practical skills and play an active role in sustainability efforts within their community.

We thank all participants for attending the Forum and for their donations.
