Conference highlights - 6 June

2018 Ecsite Conference, 6 June

#Ecsite2018 Highlights 6 June

Discover yesterday’s slideshow summary, looking back on the second of two days of in-depth pre-conference workshops.

Enroled in one of six parallel full-day workshops, attendees discussed how to deal with instances in which faith and facts collide; got a practical introduction to experience design; mapped a way forward for social inclusion in their organisations; found the key to successful science games; went on a space-related excursion; or dusted up their evaluation fundamentals.

At the end of the day, speakers and convenors were invited to attend the Speakers Reception at CERN's Globe of Innovation. They received a warm welcome from Charlotte Warakaulle, Director of International Relations at CERN; Jacques Ayer, Director of the Natural History Museum of Geneva; Denis Hochstrasser, Vice Rector of the University of Geneva; and Herbert Münder, President of Ecsite and General Manager of Universum Bremen. They also had a chance to follow tours around CERN's exhibition spaces. Further tours are planned in the coming days - more here.

Today is the first day of the three main conference days. Expected highlights: the Opening ceremony whose speakers include Sami Kanaan, Mayor of the City of Geneva; the announcement of the 2018 Mariano Gago Ecsite Awards winners; the opening of the Business Bistro; 30+ parallel sessions; and an unusual Gala Dinner fondue at Les Vernets ice rink.
