We are looking for at least four new members to join the Ecsite Conference Programming Committee (ACPC) from July 2025, to replace experts whose mandates end this year.
The ACPC has an advisory role for the Conference. Working together with the Ecsite Head Office and representatives of the Conference host organisation, ACPC advises the Ecsite Board on the programme, selects and approaches keynote speakers, designs the call for session proposals, and reviews submissions.
Who should apply?
Diverse applicants from across our network with different backgrounds, expertise, career levels, age groups coming from different geographic regions, and institution types to represent the Conference audience.
Enthusiastic and team-oriented individuals whose skills and perspectives will complement and enhance the committee’s expertise and diversity.
Please note: This is a voluntary role. Committee members (or their organisations) are responsible for covering all associated costs (travels, accommodation), including conference attendance.
What does the role involve?
As a committee member, you will help curating the programme of the largest science engagement conference in Europe.
As a committee member, you should:
- Attend the Ecsite Conference each year of your mandate, starting from this year’s event in Warsaw, 3-5 June.
- Participate in up to two additional in-person meetings, including the crucial session selection meeting in early December.
- Join working groups focused on various programme-related tasks.
- Review 50+ session proposals each November.
We estimate the time commitment for working meetings, session review and other tasks between 6-10 days every year.
What’s in it for you? You will collaborate with experts across Europe, and gain access to a diverse network of science engagement professionals. Your voice will be part of the key conversations, raising your profile within the Ecsite community and beyond. Work in the Committee is also a rich learning experience, that will strengthen your strategic thinking and reward you with insights into other institutions best practices and new ideas emerging in the field.
