About the proposal
Ecsite is involved in a new proposal that responds to the Call HORIZON-WIDERA-2024-ERA-01-04 Strengthening researchers’ skills for better careers – leveraging the European Competence Framework for Researchers.
This is a one-stage call. The project is coordinated by Fraunhofer ISI. Ecsite is a project partner.
The project will develop, pilot and test tools for researchers to build intersectoral careers and increase their transversal skills to contribute to knowledge production environments across disciplines and beyond higher education environments. This is a two-year project
If selected, the project is expected to start in November 2024.
Ecsite and the Coordinator of the proposal are looking for two organisations to join as Affiliated Entities.
Role of the Affiliated Entity
The main tasks of the Affiliated Entity will be to:
- To pilot training schemes with researchers in their region. The schemes will be developed by the consortium, which includes a partner with extensive experience in training researchers. The Affiliated Entities will have the opportunity to provide input and customise the schemes.
- To contribute to the evaluation of the training schemes.
- To attend 2 events for dissemination purposes (e.g. scientific conference of your choice in your region).
- To provide reports and insights on all activities as required by Ecsite.
- To disseminate the project in their country.
Indicative budget
The budget will be calculated based on the Person month (one person working full time for one month) rate, including the following:
- 6 Person-Months of salary costs.
- €7.000 in Other Direct Costs (translation costs, communication & dissemination materials for working with stakeholders, consumables & catering for workshops).
- Travel and subsistence for one staff member to attend 2 events (€1500).
- Overheads (indirect costs) of 25% of the above two categories.
Obligatory

- English-speaking project manager.
- The institution must be active in public engagement in science
- As the project concerns intersectoral careers for researchers and relevant transversal skills, the institution must demonstrate reach and experience in working with research institutions and/or researchers' networks.
- The institution must be located and carry out its activities in one of the following countries: Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Greece, Latvia, Malta, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Serbia.
Desirable
- Ideally, be a research institution or a research network, or have an in-house research body.
