The call is now open for the Xplore Health Outreach Committee. This call aims to identify five members of an Outreach Committee, from five different science centres or museums whose working languages are English, French, German, Spanish, Italian or Polish, to take part in the XploreHealth project, conducting a focus group, organising two events in 2011 with “open lab” experimental workshops and dialogue activities in each science centre or museum, and establishing and developing long-term links with local health researchers and other stakeholders. The budget available for these tasks is €9000 per institution, and travel, accommodation and food costs will also be covered for two project meetings.
Xplore Health is a European project, coordinated by Barcelona Science Park to build and promote an online portal on the latest health research. The portal will contain multimedia tools for public engagement, and will be linked to activities in science centres, museums and schools, that will nurture public engagement with health research and its wider ethical, legal and social aspects. Project partners are Barcelona Science Park, Ecsite, European Schoolnet, Centre of the Cell and Ubach Munné y Asociados. The project launched in January 2010 and runs until June 2012.
Please note that the Outreach Committee call is open to Ecsite members only, and the principal working language of the institution must be English, French, German, Spanish, Italian or Polish.
