The Advanced Science Communication Training Course, organised by Ecsite for the COST office, was carried out successfully on Monday 5th and Tuesday 6th October 2009. The course was organised for senior scientists coordinating network research projects financed by the COST initiative. The objective was to furnish participants with the tools they need to communicate effectively with non-expert publics, including both the broad public and specialised stakeholder groups, funding agencies and policy makers.
”The training was very useful for me – commented one participant – I enjoyed working with inspiring trainers who motivated me to think in detail about how I communicate science, particularly to a non-specialised audience. ”
