He also continues as Creative Director at Wellcome, where he oversees international cultural projects. He arrived at Wellcome in 1992, where he spearheaded a number of multidisciplinary cultural initiatives, culminating in 2007 with the establishment of Wellcome Collection, in which he directed the programmes for a decade. He regularly writes and lectures on museums and on contemporary intersections between the arts and sciences. His book Cabinets for the Curious (Ashgate, 2006) explored what we can learn from looking back at England’s earliest museums. He is currently researching a book about the increasingly significant cultural role played by these enduringly curious institutions.Contact details

He received his Ph.D. in applied physics from UC San Diego and began his career in nanoscience and the exploration of electronic materials as research staff member at IBM. He then went on to dedicate his career to supporting public engagement with science at a broad variety of organizations. First, at IBM, he launched the international IBM Reinventing Education initiative. Eric then served as Curator of the Creative World at the California Science Center and, subsequently, Vice President of Strategic Partnerships and Innovation at the New York Hall of Science/NYSci. There, he created TryScience and global partnerships to bring the best experiences from science museums to millions around the world. Most recently, Eric served as Vice President of Public Engagement and Prizes at The Kavli Foundation, a non-profit philanthropic organization dedicated to advancing science for the benefit of humanity, promoting public understanding of scientific research and supporting scientists and their work. He led the foundation’s efforts to better connect science and society by strengthening the professional fields and networks engaging the public with science. He also oversaw foundation communications and the international Kavli Prize programs, which honor and celebrate great scientists and their work.Contact details
