Territoire de Sciences is a public establishment that pilots two science centers and a range of cultural and scientific coordination activities in the Grenoble-Alpes area.
La Casemate
La Casemate has been founded in Grenoble in 1979. Historically, it's the first Science Centre created in France after the Palais de la Découverte in 1937! La Casemate is located in an old military premises from the 19th century. It's a place where heritage and innovation are mixing in order to foster people's curiosity and creativity.
Since March 2012, La Casemate is operating a Fab Lab and a Media Lab. These “Open Labs” welcome every kind of publics from pupils to entrepreneurs, from families to independant artists and makers to empower them in creative and making processes.
In La Casemate technical subjects meet those of the media: science fiction and popular culture are often pretexts for talking about science, society, and scientific information. La Casemate’s actions take many forms: exhibitions, workshops, public conferences, hackathons, living labs...
Cosmocité
Cosmocité opened in 2023 in the southern suburbs of Grenoble. Dedicated to earth, environmental, and space sciences, it offers 1500m² for a permanent exhibition, tempory exhibitions for 3-6 years old, a planetarium, an immersive space and workshop rooms.
Throughout their visit and the offered activities, visitors discover current research concerns and knowledge.
Echosciences-Grenoble
Territoire de sciences coordinates a number of projects highlighting and dynamizing the scientific and cultural offer of the Grenoble-Alpes area. Historical local coordinator of the national Science Festival, Territoire de Sciences also initiated the development and animation of Echosciences-grenoble.fr, a social network for science communication stakeholders and publics and now adopted by many other french regions.
