In 2016, the Ecsite Space Group continues to explore the topic, “Space for life”.
During this two-days pre-conference workshop, Cité de l’Espace and Tycho Brahe Planetarium will present to the participants the work developed so far on the project “The International Space Station: Living and Working in Space”. During the session, participants will have the opportunity to discuss, co-work and share resources, as well as to participate in two current projects scheduled to be finalized in the coming years: “Is there life out there” and “Monitoring the Atmosphere and Oceans from Space”. Led by Ciudad de las Artes y de las Ciencias, “Is there life out there” aims to improve our knowledge about life on Earth and beyond. “Monitoring the Atmosphere and Oceans from Space”, led by Ciencia Viva analyzes the importance of space for observing changes in oceans and in the atmosphere.
The participants will be updated on European space activities by representatives of the European Space Agency, ESA, with a particular focus on ESA’s Rosetta and ExoMars missions. Moreover, at National level, an expert from the FFG - Austrian Research promotion Agency, will present how they work with science centres and museums in Austria ; and one expert from ESA, will present the « The Spaceship Earth Exhibition », as an exemple of collaboration between ESA, industries and Ars Electronica museum. Finally, all the participants willing to showcase space projects will have a devoted slot in the workshop programme.
The Ecsite Space Group invites you to collaborate in the shaping of resources to include space in public engagement activities.
